Day 74 - Wednesday 18 July 2012

Broome

Up early this morning as we had to drop off the Navara for a service at 8:00 am - we have covered more than 10,000 kms since leaving home. We walked from the Nissan Dealer to the Broome Boulevard Shopping Centre which was about 2 kms away - it was quite a pleasant walk as the temperature was still in the low 20s. We had a morning coffee while we waited for the hairdresser to open up for Di's appointment at 9:00 am. No papers yet as they don't come in until about 10:30 am.

While Di was having her hair cut David visited the Telstra Shop to buy an external antenna for the Sierra Aircard that gives us our Bigpond connection. Telstra needed to be convinced that they might in fact have a connector and an external antenna that would suit our purposes - not sure that they had seen a Sierra Aircard before. We also made a visit to the pharmacy for another month of prescription medicines to keep the old crocks going until Darwin. After Di's hair was finished it was time to buy some papers and sit down at the coffee shop, have an early lunch and wait for the call that the Navara was finished.

The call came at 12:30 and it was time to walk back to the Nissan Dealer - the temperature was now in the low 30s and we were pleased that it was only 2 kms. We went for a drive to Cable Beach to check out the area, and on the way back to the caravan park we stopped at the Visitor's Centre to book ourselves in for the Sunset Camel Ride on Cable Beach with Broome Camel Safaris on Saturday starting at 4:10 pm. Back at the caravan park Di settled down to read the papers while David worked on a few minor repairs to the caravan.

No photos today - again!
