Mossman Gorge
Day 47 - Wednesday 27 June 2013
27.06.2013
Another sunny morning with a light south-easterly breeze - forecast temperature of 20 to 25 degrees. We drove into Mossman for papers and a coffee before a visit to Woolworths for groceries. After lunch we drove to the nearby Mossman Gorge to walk some of the rain-forest tracks in the World Heritage Area. There is an indigenous eco development operated by the local aboriginal community. A shuttle bus service operates from the Visitors Centre to the walking tracks about 2 kms up river. There is an easy boardwalk track of about 500 metres each way to a swimming hole in the river, and a more difficult 2.4 kms walking track through the rain forest.
