Kuranda Markets

Day 51 - Sunday 30 June 2013

Another lovely day in Cairns today - 17 to 26 degrees with sunny periods. A slow start followed by bacon and eggs for breakfast. We had planned to do the train trip to Kuranda but as we were not up and about early enough we missed both the trains and drove up instead - a steep and winding road of about 30 kms. Kuranda has two markets, the Original Rain Forest Market and the Kuranda Heritage Market. We had a walk around both markets before wandering down the main street to the Kuranda Hotel for lunch. Di had Barramundi and Chips with Salad, and David had a Beef and Guinness Pie also with Chips and Salad. On the way back to Cairns we stopped at a Lookout for the views of the coast with Cairns in the distance.
