Tallebudgera Creek to Yamba

Day 101 - Tuesday 20 August 2013

Gold Coast - 9 to 22 degrees and sunny.

Yamba - 7 to 20 degrees and sunny.

We were on the road about 9:30 am after a visit to the dump point to empty the holding tanks. Shortly after leaving the caravan park we left the Gold Coast Highway to join the Pacific Highway for our 190 km trip to Yamba in NSW. The trip took a little longer than we expected as there were lots of road-works, particularly on the Byron Bay/Lennox Head By-pass. We stopped for a morning coffee at a rest area near Little Italy, and eventually arrived at the Blue Dolphin Caravan Park at Yamba at about 1:00 pm and booked in for three nights.

We were allocated a slab site and were all set-up by 2:00 pm. David had to get out the satellite dish as TV reception from Lismore is lousy. On the next site which is unoccupied we have two plovers riding shot-gun on a baby, which is apparently the last remaining from a clutch or four. After setting up we had a late lunch and went for a walk around the park to check out the facilities. The park is less than half full and no doubt we will find more of this as we venture south over the next three weeks.
