Moss Vale to Rutherglen
Day 119 - Sunday 8 September 2013
08.09.2013
A little cooler today in Moss Vale with forecast temperatures of 10 to 18 degrees and cloudy. Rutherglen sunny and 7 to 19 degrees.
Today was a big day in the saddle with a trip of 475 km from Moss Vale to Rutherglen. We got away from Moss Vale at about 9:00 am and stopped at about 11:00 am for a morning coffee at the Yass Service Centre. We stopped for fuel at Gundagai and had lunch at Maccas at about 1:00 pm. We stopped again in a rest area near Holsworthy for another drink stop. We eventually arrived at Rutherglen at about 4:15 pm and booked in for 2 nights.
Traffic on the Hume Freeway was very light with only a few trucks to contend with, but as it is all dual carriage way its all pretty easy. The countryside between Moss Vale and Rutherglen is very green and lush with occasional patches of yellow canola nearly ready for harvest. The Hume Freeway now completely bypasses Albury and Wodonga and makes the trip much easier than it used to be a few years ago.
No Photos today.
G'day Two Aces. When do you drive onto the Spirit of Tassie and what would you consider to be the best part/area of this trip, you certainly do get around.
Do you plan to beat winter in Hobart next year?
Regards.
