Forth - Day 2
Monday 17 February 2014
17.02.2014
Forecast for today was intermittent cloud with a temperature range of 13 to 20 degrees.
We decided to do the tourist thing today and started at the nearby Braddon Lookout which gave us views across Forth and its surrounding farmland. From there we drove along the old highway to Stanley, which took us in and out of all the small towns along the coast, On the way we checked out all of the free camps and their associated dump points for future reference. There is a nice free camp along-side the Penguin Surf Club, and another at Cooee Point that was a bit barren and uninviting. The Rocky Cape Hotel also runs a free camp behind the Hotel, but charges for showers and laundry facilities. When we got to Stanley we found that many of the eating places were closed, with only a couple open for the tourists.
