Robina Shopping Centre

Day 21 - Friday 19 July 2014

Another beautiful day in paradise - sunny and 20 degrees and thankfully no wind. After a leisurely breakfast and a read of the Saturday papers we decided to head for the Robina Shopping Centre - its enormous, on three levels, and probably as big as Chaddy in Melbourne. The first problem is where to park - all the car parks have 2.3 metre height limits and we were not certain how high we are with the roof rack loaded. We found a car-park where you could drive on to the top deck so gave it a try - we did not ring any bells so all is good - it turned out that we are just under 2.2 metres.

Since we left home David has been looking for another pair of Scholl Orthaheel walking shoes - he bought some black ones in Hobart and has since been looking for a pair of brown shoes. While Scholl advertise that the shoes are available from The Athletes Foot shoe stores - we have found that while they were available in Hobart, we have been unable to locate any in Melbourne, Sydney or the Gold Coast. Most stores only stock the Scholl orthotic inserts. One store in Sydney did offer to order them. David settled on a pair of Florsheim All Terrain walking shoes with a gel heel.

We also made a visit to the Telstra shop for a pre-paid 4G USB dongle. Since leaving home we have been using our Samsung 4G mobiles to connect the laptops to the internet. However each phone has a 1 GB download limit which has proved to be inadequate. The USB dongle came with 2 GB of included data available for 30 days for $69.00, and can be recharged with 4 GB of data available for 60 days for $50.00. This should keep us going until we get home.

After a couple of laps of the shopping centre we went down to the restaurants on Level One near the Lake. We had a very nice lunch with a couple of reds - Di had a healthy char-grilled lamb with mediterranean salad, and David had Sicilian Linguini.

Back at camp we went for a walk around the caravan park for a few photos.
