Southport - Day 14

Day 61 - Wednesday 27 August 2014

Fine and sunny this morning, although strong winds and rain expected later.

Would you believe we made two more trips to Bunnings today. The new annexe support poles needed 5/16 or 3/8 inch holes to be drilled and we did not have the appropriate size. Would you believe that the drill bits were $9.00 and $11.00 respectively, but a full set of De Walt drill bits in a plastic case which included the full range from 1/16 inch to 3/8 inch was only $34.00. No contest!

Back at camp we completed all the fine adjustments and waited for the wind and the rain. No wind but a very heavy downpour that only lasted 10 minutes - but it did identify a leak or two. It was back to Bunnings again for some 5/16 inch plastic tubing to construct some spouts at each end of the awning to take rainwater away, It had been dribbling back into the annexe. The next rain period will test the adjustments.

No photos today.
