Tallebudgera Creek - Days 2 -5

30 May to 2 June 2015

After a couple of days getting our annexe sorted we spent Saturday visiting Jaycar, Bunnings, Officeworks, Woolworths and BWS getting ourselves organised after a few days on the road. However the big disappointment was Bunnings - not only did they not have a Tapered Reamer, they did not even know what it was!!! We want the tapered reamer to open up the slots in the sail tracks where the annexe walls slide in. While we used a whole can of silicone spray, it should be easier!

On Sunday David spent most of the day re-organising the cabling for our satellite boxes. Our Foxtel box has been on the blink for a week or two, and a replacement box is in the mail, but David thought it prudent to renew all our cabling for the satellite boxes. After re-connecting the boxes the Foxtel box gave a couple cracks and pops and decided to work - perhaps a couple of loose connections. We will still replace it when the new box arrives!

Monday turned out a bit cloudy, but we decided to go for a walk around Burleigh Head. The lower track was closed part way round so we walked up to the Lookout, only to find that track was also closed at the Lookout. A Ranger at the Lookout told us that the top track would re-open next week , but the bottom track had been closed since last year because of a couple of rock falls. We walked down to the back track and continued to Burleigh Beach. After a visit to the Newsagent we had a coffee at the Beach Cafe and walked back to the caravan park along the road. While we were on our walk we received a phone call to say that our replacement Fox box had arrived. Our walk today ended up being about 10 km - a little more than expected! Back at the van David connected the new Fox box and called Foxtel to get the new box activated. It took about 10 seconds to activate the new box - now we are happy!

Tuesday turned out to be another magnificent day - sunny and 18 degrees. We spent the day relaxing in the sun reading the newspapers. This is what we came to Queensland for!!!
