Tallebudgera Creek - Week 3

Saturday 15 August to Wednesday 19 August 2015

Mainly fine and warm on the Gold Coast this week.

On Saturday we walked from the caravan park to the Farmers Market at Burleigh Heads. After a few small purchases we wandered over to the Burleigh Surf Club for a coffee at the coffee shop.

The forecast for Sunday was not flash so we passed on a trip to Brisbane by train and drove to the Robina Shopping Centre. After a wander around the shops we had lunch at Toscani's Restaurant. As it turned out the weather was better than forecast, but we will do the train trip into Brisbane next week.

On Monday we received a phone call to say that our washing machine had been repaired and was available for collection. After lunch we picked up the washing machine, $220 for the repair job which was considerably less the $1,250 for a new machine, and spent most of the afternoon re-installing the machine. Di is pleased to have her own machine working again after spending a couple of weeks paying $5.00 per load for the caravan park machines.

On Tuesday we joined Brendan and Lyn at their place for an excellent seafood lunch cooked on the barbeque, that turned into a very long lunch. We spent most of the time talking about new caravans. Brendan and Lyn are in the market for a caravan, but have to make a few basic decisions - off-road or on-road, one axle or two, load carrying capacity, etc. Tomorrow they are going to look at a range of caravans to help them make a decision.

Wednesday was a shopping day - Ferry Road Markets, Aldi, and BWS for a few supplies, the Barbeque Shop for a light for our Baby - Q, and Tasman Star fishmongers for Tassie scallops and Kingfish fillets. The Tassie scallops got cooked that night in garlic butter and made an excellent meal.
