We awoke to a clear blue sky with a temperature of 13 degrees and a forecast of 21 degrees. After breakfast we went for a walk along the Esplanade for papers and a coffee. First stop was the Tanker Jetty which is no longer used for that purpose, but has become the fishing jetty. We walked to the end of the jetty and the only fish being caught were herring, and pretty small at that. A large Sea Lion was sunning itself on the beach and has apparently been doing so for 25 years or so. A younger sea lion was swimming around the jetty looking for a feed, but won't come on to the beach as the older sea lion will chase him away.

We continued along the Esplanade passing the Esperance Museum's wind turbine display. The exhibit was obtained from Australia's first wind farm at Salmon Beach near Esperance.

Next stop was the Esperance Bay Yacht Club. Di found an old sailor to cuddle up to - she always did like a sailor!

Final stop before we turned back was the Esperance Clock Tower.

On the way back we checked out the other caravan park - they had declined our custom as they thought our 5th wheeler would be too big for their park - I think that we ended up better off.

After picking up a paper we stopped at the Dome Restaraunt for a coffee, but settled for an early lunch. Di had an excellent Toasted Lemon Chicken Wrap while I had Ham and Eggs Benedict - Yummy! We also bought ourselves a WA Annual National Parks Pass - $50 for Seniors - we will easily get our monies worth over the next 2 or 3 months.

By the time we got back to our caravan park we had walked 10.2 kms - not bad for a morning constitutional! First job when we got back from our walk was to set up the Satellite dish - we could not get it to work in Port Lincoln. David managed to get a very strong signal almost first go - Yippee - we can watch the football in near real time instead of on 2 hour delay if at all!

We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and reading the papers, apart from a visit to the servo for diesel, and a trip to Bunnings for a collection of minor bits and pieces.

Finally we completed our gourmet day with a butterflied lamb shoulder roasted on the Baby Q, accompanied by roast potatoes and vegies. We also had a good red to finish off a good day - Yummy!
